Mellow-core mood-setters with a gift for lyricism… while densely textured and stunningly smooth on the instruments [ Strange Mangers ] remain constant in the center of the ever-growing and -shifting post-rock / math-rock storm. The stuttering tones and intertwining melodies are all there, but instead of being heavy and alienating [ Strange Mangers ] manage to consistently evoke things that resemble…be prepare for it. Actual human thoughts and feelings! So that right there is more than [ Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving ] could ever say for themselves.
