Joie De Vivre - We're All Better Than This

Joie De Vivre is a band from Rockville, IL who formed in 2007. Joie De Vivre play a great style of emo and indie rock influenced by bands such as Mineral, God's Reflex, and other Deep Elm era bands of the 1990's. We're All Better Than This is the band's latest eleven song album, which serves as a follow up to their album North End, released in 2010. On We're All Better Than This, the band offers up eleven new songs of honest, sincere, and heartfelt emo. I really liked this midwestern style of emo and listened to a lot of Braid, Promise Ring, Appleseed Cast, and Get Up Kids when I was in college back in the day and I'm really glad bands like Joie De Vivre carry the torch with this style of music. Overall, We're All Better Than This makes for a great listen. Definitely required listening for fans of Empire!, Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate), Football, Etc., and Prawn.
